If you haven’t heard any video marketing tips about how this can boost traffic to your website, you could be missing out.
It doesn’t require a ton of expertise, complicated and expensive equipment or anything fancy to record some videos for your business and website. All you need is a smart phone or digital camera which takes video, and you’re all set.
Using my 5 very easy video marketing tips you will be able to make sure your video SEO is done properly, and you’ll be sending traffic back to your website in no time at all.
Step 1 – Plan your video name in advance & use it more than once
Before you take your video and download it to your computer, you need to think about the name you’ll give it when you save it. If I make a Q&A video based on a question someone has asked me, I answer the question in the video and say the “name” of the video once or twice.
If I make a video about video SEO, I could name the video best-way-to-do-video-seo.mov or .mp4 – the last 3 letters (the extension) will depend on the software which saves and exports yor videos.
Once you’ve renamed your video, this can also become the Title of the video when you upload it, too.
Step 2 – Decide which page to send your video visitors to
At the very beginning of the Description, you need to put a LINK back to a page on your website, or to your offer etc.
Make sure to put “http://” and not just “www” for the start of the link – if you put “http://” it will be clickable, which is exactly what you want.
Step 3 – Type a long Description with tons of great information
In the video Description on Youtube (and other video sites), you will be able to type some interesting text about your video, and provide a transcript of what you’ve said.
Step 4 – Be friendly, engaging and add your CTA
When you create your Description, try to capture the video viewer’s attention with great typed information too. People will often read the Description before watching the video, to make sure it’s exactly what they want to read.
If you make this interesting, engaging or even fun, your viewer might enjoy it enough to click the Play button – great!
Your Call To Action is the step you want your viewer to take next – decide what that might be – is to to watch the next video? To go to your site and sign up for more info? Make sure it’s clear – if you tell folks what you’d like them to do next, they mostly follow what you say.
Step 5 – Don’t forget your Contact details
The last of these video marketing tips is often overlooked.
It’s easy to add your Business name and contact details at the end of the video.
I also like to add my Youtube channel name & link, a Facebook & Twitter link, and the Contact page link for my website.
By following these video marketing tips, and making sure your video SEO is complete, you will boost your chances of having people click through to your website and following your call to action, all of which increases your website traffic.
Make sure that the page they land on is related to the video content, or you’ll confuse your viewers and they can easily click away.
